Vaudt, CPA, Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Chairman and Past Chair of NASBA, for being named to Accounting Today‘s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting.
In his second year as President and CEO of NASBA, Ken Bishop continues to hold public protection paramount by carrying out NASBA’s mission to enhance the effectiveness and advance the common interests of the Boards of Accountancy through the implementation of high-level programs and services designed to strengthen the 55 state and jurisdictional regulatory bodies.
As NASBA’s current Chair, Gaylen Hansen’s passion for public protection and the professional mission of accounting made national headlines recently as he continued to pledge support of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as modified by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to meet the financial reporting needs of private companies.
Former NASBA Chair Billy Atkinson made national news when he became the inaugural chair of the PCC last year, responsible for proving that the council can be a viable solution to the decades-old issue of making GAAP work for all kinds of companies.
David Vaudt, another prominent name on the list of former NASBA Chairs, was chosen to serve as the next chairman of the GASB effective July 1, 2013. During his term as NASBA Chair, Vaudt oversaw the launch of the computer-based Uniform CPA Examination and shepherded the planning of the Accountancy Licensee Database
